Werchter Boutique was buzzing with an incredible atmosphere last Saturday. Emmy d'Arc, Roxy Dekker, James Arthur, Pommelien Thijs, Mika and Pitbull all delivered fantastic performances.
Unfortunately, the day ended on a sour note. For festivalgoers, for us, and for the artists, crew and volunteers alike.
As severe thunderstorms were forecast to approach the festival site, we were forced to end the event earlier than planned. By closing out the programme ahead of schedule and cancelling Katy Perry's show, festivalgoers were able to leave safely and calmly, and get home without any worries. Safety remains our number one priority, always. About 30 minutes after the last member of staff had reached shelter, a powerful thunderstorm swept over Werchter.
We want to sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Thanks to you, the exit went calmly and remarkably smoothly.
In accordance with our terms and conditions, we are not required to provide a refund or compensation when an event is interrupted due to force majeure. That said, we have decided, on an exceptional basis, to offer ticket holders* a gesture of goodwill. Holders of a Golden Circle ticket can request a €25 compensation. Holders of a General Admission ticket are eligible for €20.
