Brihang is a ‘young rapper from Knokke-Heist’ who for the past couple of years has lived and worked in Brussels. A city that makes him feel he is living in a wide open world. Like Flip Kowlier and Het Zesde Metaal, Brihang hails from West Flanders, but inhabits a totally different universe. He is a unique cross between Kendrick Lamar and Willem Vermandere. A wordsmith who writes poetry for the people of the 21st century. Strangely enough, language has not been important in his life until recently. It was not until he was studying sculpture in Ghent that he became interested in words. Until then, due to his dyslexia, he had never read a book. He has certainly done some catching up. ‘Steentje’ (2019) is his first national anthem. Last year it came out of nowhere to end up at #7 in Radio 1's Belpop 100.
